In addition, PSI developed and delivered wireless rifle scopes to use with both the new M110s and the existing tethered training weapons. Pathfinder built the CG-AWT with the original training weapons back in 2010 and have continued to support it with with multiple upgrades and improvements throughout the years.

This DEES program was a successor to the original OPSAT project, focusing on improving detection distance, tracking reliability, and using a single camera to acquire a range estimation. Due to its success, DEES, now FlightSight Odin, is being integrated into a US Air Force Bat 4 drone to give it a passive ranging capability.

Training included how to run the system, reconfigure the airframe and create new lessons. On Thursday, September 2, 2021, the Royal Netherlands Air Force and PSI will host a demonstration for the Royal Air Force (UK). The Door Gunner Simulator trains gunnery operations in a full-flight simulator designed and built by Pathfinder for the CH-47, Aerospatiale Cougar, and NH-90 helicopters.

For the next two weeks, we are performing technology upgrades on the Coast Guard Aircrew Weapons Trainer. It was originally designed and built by Pathfinder Systems eight years ago for the USCG Armed Helicopter Squadron and remains in continuous use since then by the USCG and other DoD units to train MH-60 and MH-65 aircrews for armed missions.

This upgrade includes new computing hardware, updated Image Generators, and the addition of a complete After Action Review capability.

Delivered in 2014, the DGS has been continuously used by the RNLAF for high fidelity gunnery training in a wide range of scenarios, including NVG training. This simulator has undergone regular maintenance and upgrades by PSI, and we will continue to do so.

Both of these SBIRs expand on our previous work on the Air Force's "Operational Prototype of See-and-Avoid Technology" project.

The weapon replicates an HK416 assault rifle, down to recoil and muzzle flash, and is completely wireless. It will be used to allow training of precision targeting during helicopter missions. DGS is part of many installed at the Gilze-Rijen airbase, and their use for military training was the focus of the visit. The simulators are being used for a variety of benefits, including the ability to simulate many environments and the reduced noise they produce when compared to the real thing.

It will be incorporated into the Door Gunner Simulator (DGS) for the Royal Netherlands Air Force. The weapon model is the HK 417, which shoots 7.62 mm rounds, and is used for disabling fire (as opposed to sniper fire). Disabling Fire will be configured for the Cougar and NH-90 airframes in the DGS. The upgrade will include trainer-input malfunctions, muzzle flash, and tetherless pneumatic recoil. It will also have wireless communications with the Host system, an internal sensor array to communicate trainee weapon state to trainer, and its own ballistics model.
